SUMMARY:CANCELLED - Pembina River Eco-Buffer Educational Event
DESCRIPTION:Due to wildfires in Alberta\, this event has been cancelled. The Athabasca Watershed Council (AWC) and West Central Forage Association (WCFA) are hosting an educational event near the Pembina River in Sangudo on May 25th and May 26th.  The location of this project is adjacent to the Pembina River within the community of Sangudo. It will feature multiple stations from the AWC and WCFA\, including planting native vegetation to enhance an eco-buffer near the Pembina River\, as well as activities with our partners Inside Education and Cows and Fish. This event is to support the Pembina River Eco-Buffer AWC and WCFA will host two events for youth to plant native vegetation to create an eco-buffer with partners from Inside Education and Cows and Fish. \nThe Pembina River watershed is home to many communities. Located in west-central Alberta\, the Pembina River starts at Recap Mountain flowing through crown land before nearing the communities of Lodgepole\, Entwistle\, Evansburg\, Mayerthorpe\, Sangudo\, Barrhead\, Westlock\, and Fawcett. The Pembina River ends at its confluence with the Athabasca River west of Flatbush. The Athabasca Watershed Council (AWC) and West Central Forage Association (WCFA) recognize the significance of the Pembina River to the communities that lie within its watershed. As a result of this recognition\, the Pembina River Eco-Buffer & Education Project was formed.\n \n
